Mount Isa -Fri 23rd October to Mon 2nd November

We arrived at Mount Isa about 11 am on the Friday (we seem to set up camp near meal times quite regularly). We are here to visit Justin, Merlita and children Maisie and Mason. The first night we set up camp on the front lawn. On the Saturday we manoeuvred the van through a car port, then the side gates, then slipped past the concrete ramp at the back of the house then stopped short of the brick BBQ. This then was our camp spot for the following ten days. Over this time we met family and their friends, tried some fine cuisine prepared by Merlita and Judy and Maisie and Mason were taking turns at sleeping in the van with us. We were in town for the running of the Mount Isa Cup, we had a great day and only lost $2 to the Bookies. ( I have some photos on my mobile phone from the race meeting, if any are presentable I will upload them at a later time. I'll let you know)

Well, here they are!

Noel, Judy and Merlita.

I also took the opportunity over this lengthy stop to purchase hardware items to complete running repairs on the van. We will be back in Brisbane by the 30th November for a service on the van but certain components would not have lasted the time or the distance. Any future purchasers of Avan products should phone us for advice before signing the purchase agreement. We celebrated Jude's birthday on the 29th with lots of singing and a cake with many candles.
